Located between Africa and Europe, the island encompasses both in its architecture and interiors design, giving it a definite sense of style and exotic charms.
Being only 48 kilometres long, it is an easy island to explore, and a car will be essential for getting around and discovering the real Ibiza and its charming island villages. As well as a good selection of superb restaurants, you will also find exquisite craft and interior design shops. For families, there are both crowded and quiet beaches to choose from and two waterparks for children. You may also want to try diving, tennis, golf, and a variety of watersports. Chartered boats are also very easy to find.
Formentera, a tiny island 7 kilometres away, is worth a visit, as is the old part of Ibiza town, D'Alt Vila. It is Europe’s most ancient fortress city, perched high on the hillside to one side of the port. A wander through its narrow cobbled streets is fascinating with its old castle, cathedral and Museum of Contemporary Art.
